A smartphone connected to a laptop with a USB cable for backing up

Back up your phone, note the fault and plan how you will stay in touch while it is being repaired. Keep account passwords and passcodes private.

Before your visit

  1. Back up important photos, messages and files, and check the backup completed.
  2. Write down the symptoms and anything that happened just before the fault.
  3. Bring your booking reference and any accessories relevant to the problem.
  4. Make sure you can receive updates on the contact details you supplied.

Device access and testing

Do not put a passcode in your online booking or enquiry. Discuss testing with the store: you may be able to unlock the device yourself while present. Ask which checks can be completed without access. Never disclose your account password.

Before leaving the device

Agree the work, price status and how you will receive updates. Follow manufacturer service-preparation instructions where relevant; ask the store before erasing your device or changing account settings.
