General

How long does a repair take?

It depends on the device and the fault. Many common repairs, such as screen and battery replacements on popular models, can be completed while you wait. More involved work — board-level soldering or data recovery — takes longer and may mean leaving the device with us. We will give you a realistic timescale for your specific repair before any work starts.

Do I need to book an appointment?

No appointment is needed for most repairs. You are welcome to walk in during opening hours, seven days a week. If you have an unusual device or an uncommon fault, it is worth calling ahead on 01708 922786 so we can check we have the right parts in stock.

What happens if you cannot fix my device?

That is what No Fix, No Fee means: if we cannot complete the repair, you do not pay a repair fee. Terms apply, and we will explain exactly where you stand before we begin.

Do you charge to diagnose the problem?

No. Diagnostics are free. Our technicians examine your device, identify the fault and give you a price for the repair before you commit to anything.

What services do you offer?

We repair mobile phones, tablets, laptops and games consoles — screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, HDMI ports, overheating, software problems and more. We also offer diagnostics and data recovery. If your device is not one of the four main categories, ask us; we see more than we can list.

Do you use genuine parts?

We use quality replacement components appropriate to each repair, and we tell you what is being fitted before the work goes ahead. On many phone screens there is a choice — a standard replacement, a premium one, or a manufacturer original — at different prices. We will talk you through the difference so you can pick what suits your device and budget.

Will I lose my data?

Most repairs, including screen and battery replacements, do not affect the data on your device. That said, no repair is entirely without risk, and some faults — particularly liquid damage and storage failures — put data at risk regardless of what we do. Please back up before you bring a device in.

Do I need to give you my passcode?

For most repairs we need to switch the device on and test it afterwards, which usually means we need your passcode. If you would rather not share it, tell us — we can talk through what can still be tested and what cannot.

Can you repair a device that is out of manufacturer warranty?

Yes. Age is not a barrier, and an out-of-warranty device is most of what we work on. What matters is whether parts are still available for your model and whether the repair is worth doing — we will tell you honestly if we do not think it is.

Pricing & payment

How much will my repair cost?

Prices for our most common repairs are shown on each device page — choose your device and the repair you need to see it. Where a price is not listed, it is because it depends on your exact model and what has failed. Either way the diagnostic is free and we confirm the cost with you before any work is carried out.

Why do some screen repairs have several prices?

Because there is more than one grade of replacement screen. A standard replacement is the most affordable, a premium screen is closer to the original in brightness and colour, and a manufacturer original is exactly what the device left the factory with. All three are covered by our 12-month warranty. We will show you the difference in store.

Are the prices on the website fixed?

Treat them as a guide. They reflect our standard pricing for that repair, but component prices move and the condition of your device can change what is involved. We confirm the actual price with you before starting, and you are free to walk away at that point.

How do I pay?

We accept cash and credit and debit cards. Payment is due when you collect your device.

Is it better to repair or replace a broken phone?

Repairing is often the more economical choice, particularly where the damage is limited to one component and the phone is otherwise working well — and it keeps a working device out of the waste stream. It is worth weighing up the age of the device, the cost of the repair, its overall condition and what a replacement would cost. Bring it in and we will give you a straight assessment, including telling you if we think a repair is not worth it.

Phone repairs

Can you repair a cracked phone screen?

Yes. Cracked screens are the most common repair we carry out. We replace the display assembly and test touch response, brightness and colour before returning the phone to you.

Can you replace my phone battery?

Yes. If your phone drains quickly, shuts down before reaching 0% or only works while plugged in, a replacement battery usually solves it. We test the battery first to confirm that is genuinely the cause rather than a charging or software fault.

Can you fix a charging port?

Yes. We start by inspecting and cleaning the port, because a surprising number of charging faults are caused by compacted pocket lint rather than a broken port. If the port itself is damaged, we replace the charging assembly.

What should I do if my phone gets wet?

Power it off and do not charge it. Dry the outside gently and do not use heat or rice. We do not offer liquid or water-damage repairs; please contact a specialist water-damage repair service.

My screen still works but the glass is cracked. Does it need repairing?

It is worth doing. Cracked glass lets dust and moisture reach the display underneath, and cracks tend to spread. A screen that still works today can fail suddenly later, so repairing it early is usually the cheaper route.

What should I do if my screen is unresponsive?

Try a few things first. Restart the phone, since a temporary software glitch is a common cause. Take off any case or screen protector and clean the screen with a soft cloth. Make sure the battery is not flat, as a very low charge can affect touch response. If none of that helps, the digitiser or display has likely failed and needs looking at — bring it in and the diagnostic is free.

Tablet & iPad repairs

Do you repair iPads?

Yes. We handle iPad screen and digitiser replacements, batteries, charging ports and cameras across iPad, iPad Air, iPad Pro and iPad mini models.

Is an iPad screen repair different from a phone screen repair?

It generally takes longer. Tablet displays are larger and more heavily bonded to the frame, so they need more careful removal. Because of that, some tablet screen repairs cannot be completed while you wait — we will tell you at the counter.

What is the difference between the digitiser and the screen?

The digitiser is the glass layer that senses your touch; the display is the panel underneath that produces the picture. On many tablets they are separate, so if the glass is cracked but the picture is perfect, replacing the digitiser alone is often enough — and cheaper. We will check which you need.

Laptop repairs

Do you repair MacBooks?

Yes. We work on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, including screens, batteries, keyboards, charging faults, overheating, storage upgrades and macOS reinstallation.

Can you replace a laptop screen?

Yes. We replace cracked, blank and flickering laptop displays. Bring the laptop in and we will confirm the correct panel for your specific model.

Can you recover data from a laptop that will not start?

Often, yes. It depends on the condition of the storage, which is why we assess it before committing to anything. Data recovery is never guaranteed and we will give you an honest view of the chances before we start.

My laptop is very slow. Can that be fixed?

Frequently. Slow start-up and sluggish loading on an older laptop is often down to a mechanical hard drive or too little memory, both of which can usually be upgraded. Bring it in and we will check what your model supports.

Gaming consoles

Do you repair PlayStation consoles?

Yes. We repair PlayStation 3, 4 and 5 consoles, including HDMI port replacement, overheating, disc drive faults, power faults and controller repairs.

Do you repair Xbox consoles?

Yes. We repair Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles, covering HDMI ports, overheating, disc drives, power faults and controllers.

Do you repair Nintendo Switch consoles?

Yes. Switch repairs include screens, charging ports, batteries, game card readers and Joy-Con stick drift, across Switch, Switch Lite, Switch OLED and Switch 2. We also work on the 3DS and 2DS handhelds.

Can you fix an HDMI port?

Yes. A damaged HDMI port is replaced at board level — it is a soldering repair rather than a parts swap, and it is one of the most common console repairs we carry out.

What causes stick drift on a controller?

Normal wear, in most cases. The analogue stick module contains contacts that degrade over time, so the controller reads movement when the stick is at rest. Replacing the module resolves it.

Data & privacy

How should I back up my device before a repair?

On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then iCloud Backup, and run a backup. On Android, open Settings, then System, then Backup, and make sure backup to your Google account is on. You can also connect the device to a computer and copy your photos and files across directly. Whichever route you take, check the backup has actually completed before you set off.

Do you offer data recovery?

Yes, for most types of device. We can often recover data from a device that will not start, a drive that is no longer recognised, or files that have been lost. Outcomes depend on the condition of the storage, so we assess it first and tell you honestly what the chances are.

What happens to my personal data during a repair?

We only access what we need to test that the repair has worked. We do not copy your data, and we do not look through your photos or messages. If a repair will require wiping the device, we will tell you before we start so you can back up.

Warranty

Do you provide a warranty on repairs?

Yes. Our repairs are covered by a 12-month repair warranty covering the parts we fitted and the workmanship involved. If the same fault returns and it relates to our repair, bring the device back and we will put it right.

What is not covered by the warranty?

New accidental damage, liquid damage, and faults unrelated to the repair we carried out are not covered. Data recovery is not warranted in the same way, and we will tell you that clearly at the time. We do not offer liquid or water-damage repairs.

Will repairing my phone void the manufacturer's warranty?

It can. Manufacturers generally treat repairs carried out by anyone other than themselves or an authorised partner as grounds to refuse warranty cover on the affected part. If your device is still within its manufacturer warranty and the fault might be covered, it is worth talking to them first. If it is out of warranty, or the damage is accidental and not covered anyway, that consideration usually falls away — and our repair carries its own 12-month warranty.

Do I need my receipt to claim under the warranty?

Please bring your repair receipt if you have it, as it makes tracing the original repair much quicker. If you have lost it, we can usually still find the record from your name and device.

Visiting a store

What are your opening hours?

All our stores are open seven days a week. Exact hours vary slightly by location, so check your nearest store's page — it shows today's hours and the full week.

Which store should I go to?

Whichever is most convenient. All four stores — Romford, Chadwell Heath, Dagenham and Stratford — handle phone, tablet, laptop and console repairs. Use the store finder to see which is closest to you.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Bring the device, its passcode, and its charger if the fault is charging-related. Take your SIM and memory card out beforehand so they stay with you. If you have a repair receipt from us and are coming back about the same fault, bring that too.
