An opened smartphone with its battery removed, ready for a replacement

Battery replacement may be worthwhile when your iPhone otherwise meets your needs but no longer lasts long enough. Check battery health and usage before deciding.

Check what the phone reports

Look in Settings under Battery for health information and app usage. An aged battery can affect capacity and peak performance, but heavy app use, settings and other faults can also shorten runtime.

Make the repair decision

  • Consider whether the phone otherwise works reliably.
  • Compare the model-specific repair quote with the cost and usefulness of a replacement phone.
  • Mention shutdowns, charging issues or unusual heat to the technician.

Before the repair

Back up important data. Select your exact iPhone model to see its battery price, or request a diagnostic if the cause is uncertain. Battery replacement will not resolve every cause of fast battery drain.
